Hi, I’m Gabrielle – the tech brain and heart behind Your Tech Mate Cairns.

I’ve worked in the tech industry for over five years. While studying for my Diploma in Information Technology, I worked as a support worker to make ends meet – and unexpectedly, I fell in love with it. The connection, the purpose, and the joy of helping people live more independently really stuck with me.

​

When I moved to Cairns in 2024, I returned to support work alongside my full-time tech role. I found myself working seven days a week, providing aged and disability support in the evenings and on weekends. It was deeply rewarding, but also exhausting. I knew I couldn’t keep that pace forever – and then one night at 1am, I woke up with an idea.

Your Tech Mate Cairns was born.

It’s the perfect blend of everything I love – supporting people who need a hand, while doing what I do best: tech. Whether it’s setting up a phone, fixing the Wi-Fi, or helping someone feel confident using a new device, I’m here to make technology less stressful and more accessible.
